MARCH QUARTER DATA NOW AVAILABLE  – JULY
BUDGET COMMENTARY UPDATED – JULY

A detailed annual study on the outlook for the civil engineering construction sector in Australia. Covers 12 sub-sectors of civil construction, from the main transport and utilities infrastructure sectors through to mines and heavy industrial facilities.

The civil engineering construction sector is facing significant challenges. While total activity is falling as resources investment subsides, new opportunities are emerging in non-resources segments and publically funded projects – encompassing transport, utilities and recreation – with very different outlooks by sector and state. For contractors and suppliers in the market, planning for the next 3 to 5 years will be vital. This report will provide answers to critical emerging business issues – and be a vital source of reliable forecasts for use in your budgeting, business planning, resource management, marketing strategy formulation and general market analysis.

Report contents

The report provides detailed forecasts for 12 sub-sectors of activity; including roads, bridges, railways, harbours, water, sewerage, electricity, telecommunications, recreation, pipelines, mining and heavy industry, and other engineering construction. We provide data and forecasts by state/territory, by sector of ownership (public versus private) and who does the work (private contractors versus public sector day labour).

Features of the report include:

  • our unique historical database, which stretches back to the 1970s
  • a list of major projects included in the forecasts, with assumed values and timing
  • annual forecasts for the next five years, followed by two five-year average forecasts
  • analysis of the major influences behind activity in each sector
  • quarterly commentaries and email alerts
  • update forecasts for all states and sectors in October 2017

*Please note all prices include GST.
